There is a lot of momentum around the game of football heading into the 2022 fall season. We have been inspired by how the football community has come together during the pandemic. We, too, are doing everything we can to support the football community in your equipment needs. However, despite our best efforts, some issues have lingered creating a more complex protective equipment marketplace.

We’re currently focused on meeting our customers’ expectations regarding delivery of reconditioning and new equipment orders. Below we have answered your most frequent questions.

Why is my helmet order taking so long to arrive?
Since the pandemic began, there has been a series of global issues – supply chain, transportation, and labor shortages, to name a few – disrupting protective equipment, reconditioning, production, and distribution across our industry. We’re also experiencing greater demand for our products and services. Please know that Riddell is working hard to follow through on the delivery timelines we’ve communicated to our customers.

When can I expect to receive my order that I already placed?
We understand the importance of having your equipment to begin the season. Riddell will deliver all existing reconditioning orders in early August. Most new helmet and shoulder pads in our backlog will ship by the end of August, with the remainder following through September.

When can I place an order for a new helmet?

At this point in the offseason, we do not have the available capacity or time to complete the processing and production of more orders for the 2022 season. As a result, we have suspended new helmet orders for most models until further notice. We are hopeful more capacity will become available later this fall.

What are teams who can’t get equipment before season supposed to do?
The football community has demonstrated goodwill in supporting each other through the challenges presented by the pandemic. We encourage football programs to do what they feel is in the best interest of their program.
